At our small heard dairy farm, we’re dedicated to crafting artisanal cheese and butter from the milk of our carefully tended cows. As a natural part of our dairy operation, bull calves are born, and by raising our bull calves for rose veal, we are giving these incredible animals a purpose and a life, while also producing a unique and humane product. Our bull calves are raised alongside their mothers from birth, enjoying the freedom to roam and play in acres of grass and wooded pastures. As they grow, they nurse freely and bed down in the comfort of our barn at night. Our approach is rare in the industry, and we’re proud to be setting a higher standard. Small herd, Big benefits.

Our small herd Dairy farm offers a unique and beneficial environment for our animals. With a smaller herd size, we’re able to provide a more personalized and stress-free environment for our cows. This, in turn, has a positive impact on the quality of our milk and the well-being of our calves. Our cows are able to roam freely and nurse their young without the pressures of a large, industrial-scale dairy operation. This natural and nurturing environment allows our calves to thrive, and our veal to be one of the highest qualities. By keeping our mommas and calves together, we’re also able to promote a more natural and healthy nursing process, which results in richer, more nutritious milk. This approach not only benefits our animals but also produces exceptional dairy products and veal that are truly unmatched in terms of taste, quality, and nutritional value.

From birth to harvest.

Our bull calves are born weighing around 50 pounds, and by 3-4 months old, they’ve grown to approximately 350 pounds. We’ve observed that after the bull calves are weaned, their mother’s milk production increases by 4-5 gallons per day. This remarkable difference highlights the significant amount of milk these calves consume during their lifetime with us.
